the happiest place on earth!

did you know, disney world really is the happiest place on earth? we spent a week in FL on vacation, and loved every bit of it. of primary importance, chase got to see the love of his life--minnie mouse! we spent late nights at the magic kingdom, hanging out with tigger, pooh, eyore, and piglet, riding the magic carpet ride (while getting spit on by a gold camel), and enjoying thunder mountain minus the hot sun and 'i'm melting!' feeling.

our hotel was great, and even had its own lake! we spent an entire day just at the hotel, rented a couple of boats and even tried kayaking. we were able to catch up with some friends who live in orlando & had a cookout with them.

we also visited friends in daytona beach and spent a day just relaxing on the sand. unfortunately, that was the last day of our vacation, and mommy got a little lazy with the sunscreen...we were all red! (sorry, aunt heather.)

we couldn't have asked for a more perfect vacation. (what could be better than spending time with my boys?) even the accident i was in prior to our trip turned out to be a blessing, in a way... we ended up with a rental that was better on gas than the avalanche and bigger than the impala for luggage!

our pool is open, and we're now getting the lawn & garden in order for cookouts. planning a trip to the beach with friends later this summer... this is totally the best time of year!

poor me.

i need to vent...just a little. it's 9pm, chase is fast asleep (yeah!), and my workaholic hubby still has another 2 deals to go before he'll be home. i imagine he'll get home about the time i'm thinking of going to bed early to finally get a good night's sleep.

i would like someone to define for me what exactly the word "promotion" means. if it means working more hours than before, no longer getting free, extravagant vacations or endless awards for being a rockstar from the organization, no longer being able to count on having days off, and not necessarily making more, then that is exactly what my husband has gotten--a promotion.

matt's days off are wednesday and sunday. wednesday he worked until 2pm; sunday the dealership opened though it's usually closed sundays, and off he went. get my drift?

there is a beer sitting across the room that is looking at me strangely. i'd better go check it out. cheers.

pour some sugar on me...come on, fire me up...

Thursday night, Matt and I went on a double date with Mick & Kristina to--get this--an REO Speedwagon/Styx/Def Leppard concert! Yes, that's right...Stacey (and Dan Sparks) eat your heart out! I don't know if it was the good tunes or the 30-oz. beers, but boy, did we have a great time! I have been converted to a hardcore Styx fan...they did "Sailing Away" even better than Eric Cartman on 'South Park'! ;)

I've realized that by continuing to go on dates with your spouse, you learn a lot. You'd think that after so many years together, there wouldn't be much new info. Not so. For instance, I learned at the concert that Matt is a supremely talented and prolific air guitarist. He busted out that guitar at some point during the concert and just went to town! Mick tried to compete, but his skills were simply no match! I learned something about myself too...that I was actually supposed to be a rockstar, but was instead born painfully shy. If that ain't ironic.

Love you!
